The victim, who lived in Bilaspur Colony with her 11-year-old daughter, was a resident of Islamnagar in Gadarpur and worked as a nurse at a private hospital in Nainital. Her sister reported her missing on July 31 at the Rudrapur police station, prompting an investigation.

More than a week later, her body was discovered in an empty plot in Uttar Pradesh’s Dibdiba area and sent for a post-mortem.
