Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh announced on Wednesday that the party’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra will be paused from February 26 to March 1 to accommodate important election-related meetings in Delhi. He emphasized the necessity for Rahul Gandhi’s presence during these crucial discussions.
Jairam Ramesh stated that the yatra will resume on March 2, with Rahul Gandhi planning to visit Cambridge University in the United Kingdom on February 27-28 to deliver two lectures. Additionally, on March 5, Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain.
Taking a critical stance, Jairam Ramesh criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allegedly misleading the country with the concept of ‘Amrit Kaal’ (Era of Nectar). He highlighted the Congress’s perspective that the last ten years have been an era of injustice (Anyay Kaal) with issues like unemployment leading to youth suicides.
The Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, currently in Lucknow, entered its 39th day on Wednesday. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is expected to join the yatra from Moradabad on February 24, while the potential participation of Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav remains uncertain due to unresolved seat-sharing disagreements between the two parties. The Congress’s Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, covering 6,700 km across 15 states, aims to address various issues ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
