Delhi’s AQI remains very poor at 369

Smog blanketed the national capital, today morning, keeping the overall air quality in the ‘very bad’ category with an Air Quality Index of 369.

According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the primary pollutant PM 2.5 at Lodhi Road was 369. The AQI in the Delhi University region was 365, whereas IIT Delhi had a reading of 381.

The Air Quality Index of the National Capital Regions of Gurugram and Noida was 374 and 388, respectively.

The Air Quality Index from 0 to 100 is regarded excellent, while 100 to 200 is considered moderate, 200 to 300 is considered bad, 300 to 400 is considered extremely poor, and 400 to 500 or more is deemed severe.

Earlier this month, Delhi had’moderate’ air quality.

The Ministry of Earth Sciences has issued a health advice via SAFAR advising everyone to limit hard exertion. According to the SAFAR app, those with heart problems, elderly folks, and children should avoid prolonged or strenuous exercise.
