Upon receiving a call reporting the explosion, police and emergency services swiftly arrived on the scene. Eyewitnesses described hearing a loud bang followed by a visible cloud of smoke. One resident captured a video of the aftermath, showcasing the chaos that ensued. “I was at home. I heard a loud sound and saw a cloud of smoke,” the witness reported.
Senior police officer Amit Goel confirmed that forensic teams and members of the Delhi Police’s special cell have begun investigations to determine the cause of the explosion. Initial findings indicated that the blast might have been linked to a crude bomb, although police have not yet confirmed this theory.
Local residents reported that the explosion shattered window panes of vehicles parked nearby and damaged shop signboards in the vicinity. “The school wall was found damaged with a foul smell emanating from the area,” the police stated. Fortunately, there have been no injuries reported, and the area has been cordoned off for safety and investigation purposes.
As part of the investigation, authorities are examining the underground sewage line in the area for any potential links to the blast. A crime scene unit, bomb disposal squad, and fire brigade team are all present at the location, working together to gather evidence and ensure public safety.
The National Security Guard (NSG) has also been notified and may send a team to assist with the investigation. As the situation develops, police sources are maintaining a cautious approach, emphasizing the need to thoroughly analyze all evidence before drawing conclusions.
