On Sunday, heavy rain battered Punjab’s Jalandhar causing widespread flooding in low-lying areas and significant traffic disruptions.

As a result, various areas of the city saw waterlogging. Thus, affecting daily commuters. Both vehicles and pedestrians were seen navigating through the flooded streets.

Due to fallen trees blocking the roads, traffic was gravely affected in some areas of the city. In addition to Jalandhar, other districts in Punjab and neighboring Haryana also experienced heavy rainfall. Mohali, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Rupnagar, and Ambala all reported significant rain.

Weather Update For Haryana

Meanwhile in Haryana, weather department India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms and lightning along with moderate rain for parts of Kurukshetra, Ambala, Yamunanagar, and Panchkula.

In addition, the IMD Regional Centre in New Delhi also predicted moderate to heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, in various areas of Haryana. The forecast included Rajaund, Assandh, Jind, Gohana, Rohtak, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar (Haryana), Kotputli, Alwar, and Viratnagar (Rajasthan).

As per IMD, Haryana is expected to experience isolated heavy rainfall until August 14.

Besides Haryana, IMD also predicts light to moderate rainfall with isolated heavy showers for various states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, and East Uttar Pradesh (August 10 to 16).
