India Successfully Carries Out Night Trials of Agni-5 Ballistic Missile

The nuclear-capable Agni-5 ballistic missile, which can reach targets more than 5,000 kilometres away, underwent successful night trial on Thursday in India.

“The test was conducted to verify new hardware and software on the lighter-than-before missile. The testing has demonstrated the Agni-5 missile’s capacity to increase its range when necessary “sources reported. According to sources, the missile has been made lighter by the use of lighter composite material, allowing it to travel farther.

In October 2021, India has launched the most recent Agni-5test.

At around 5:30 p.m., the launch was conducted from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha.

According to the Defence Ministry, the missile, which has a three-stage solid-fuelled engine, can strike targets at distances of up to 5,000 kilometres away with an extremely high degree of precision.

The ministry added that the Agni-5 test’s success is consistent with India’s declared objective of having a “credible minimum deterrent,” which supports the commitment to “No First Use.”
