Khushi Ke Aansu ! Atishi Breaks Into Tears After Manish Sisodia Granted Bail

Delhi Minister and AAP leader Atishi gets emotional after Supreme Court granted bail to AAP leader Manish Sisodia She says, “Today the truth has won, the students of Delhi have won…He was put in jail because he provided good education to poor children.”

Manish Sisodia Granted Bail

It was after 1 year and 5 months when Manish Sisodia was granted bail by the Supreme Court of India on August 9.

The Court observed that the trial in this case is unlikely to be completed anytime soon, given the vast number of 495 witnesses and the thousands of documents that run into lakhs of pages. Keeping Sisodia in custody indefinitely, with the expectation of a swift trial, would lead to a serious violation of the fundamental right to personal liberty under Article 21.

The Court also noted that the appellant has “deep roots in society,” making him unlikely to flee. Additionally, since most of the evidence is documentary and has already been collected, the risk of tampering is minimal. Regarding concerns about witness intimidation, the Court stated that conditions could be imposed to address these issues.

After the ruling, Additional Solicitor General SV Raju requested the Court to impose restrictions similar to those in the Arvind Kejriwal case, specifically barring Sisodia from visiting the Chief Minister’s office or the Delhi Secretariat. However, the bench denied this request.
