The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, addressed a gathering in Mandla on the occasion of the Rakshabandhan and Sawan Utsav Programme where he announced Rs 450 off on gas connections under Ujjawala scheme.
Addressing the gathering on Sunday, CM Yadav said, “Yesterday, the festival of Raksha Bandhan was celebrated at 25,000 places simultaneously. Sisters also expressed love to the brothers and I am happy to see that we celebrated the occasion joyously. Our Prime Minister also issued the Ujjawala gas connection scheme to our sisters,” he said.

Further, he announced that under the gas connection scheme, the government would be giving Rs 450 off on every cylinder.
“The government will be giving Rs 450 off for every cylinder under the Ujjawala scheme. We will be bringing more such bonus schemes for our people. In the coming times, we will also be providing bonuses on paddy and milk as well. Milk should be consumed for the better health of everyone,” he added.
Earlier, on Saturday, a group of women celebrated Raksha Bandha with the CM at the airport.
On the occasion, CM Yadav also offered sweets and sarees as a return gift to women on tying Rakhi. He arrived here to participate in a program after attending a program in the neighbouring Sheopur district.
“Today, I transferred Rs 1250 under the Ladli Behna Yojana and Rs 250 as ‘Shagun’ for Raksha Bandhan to the bank accounts of around 1.29 crores women through a single click during the program in Sheopur. The Sawan month is immersed in the festival of Raksha Bandhan. I wish that the love of sisters remains the same throughout life,” CM Yadav told reporters.
He also said that the state government was continuously working towards women empowerment.
“Our government is continuously working towards women empowerment. We are also going to bring more new schemes in the coming time,” he added.
