Personnel from the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) on Tuesday saved residents of the flood-affected villages of Ghugus, Belsani, and Soit in Warora in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.
Notably, this season’s torrential rains have left their mark on various Maharashtra districts, prompting the state government to send 13 NDRF and three SDRF teams to the affected areas.

The Regional Meteorological Centre in Mumbai had issued an Orange notice for the districts of Gadchiroli and Gondia, anticipating a thunderstorm and lightning along with severe to very heavy rain in isolated areas.
The lives of people have been severely damaged as the flood crisis persists in the Sironcha town of Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district and significant areas of land are still covered in water.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel worked in Gadchiroli’s flood-affected districts on Sunday to provide aid and distribute basic necessities to the locals.
A report from the Maharashtra State Disaster Situation Report Index on Saturday stated that since June 1, 102 people had died as a result of rain- and flood-related occurrences in Maharashtra.
According to the SDMD, 189 animals have already passed away. According to the Maharashtra SDMD report from July 16, about 11,836 people had to be evacuated, and 73 relief camps had to be established in the state.
In the state, there have been heavy downpours that have reportedly affected at least 28 districts, including Pune, Satara, Solapur, Nashik, Jalgaon, Ahmednagar, Beed, Latur, Washim, Yavatmal, Dhule, Jalna, Akola, Bhandara, Buldhana, Nagpur, Nandurbar, Mumbai Sub, Palghar, Thane, Nanded, Amravati, Wardha, Ratnagiri
