Mumbai Luxury Car Hits Pedestrian; Driver Arrested, Victim Dies a Week Later

A 28-year-old man, Vinod Lad, has died from injuries sustained after being hit by a speeding luxury car in Mumbai. The incident occurred on July 20 on Abdul Gaffar Khan Road near the Worli Sea Link. Lad succumbed to his injuries on July 27 while undergoing treatment.

The Worli Police have registered a case against the driver, Kiran Indulkar, who has been arrested. This accident follows a similar hit-and-run case in Mumbai’s Worli area.

On July 7, a 45-year-old woman named Kaveri Nakhwa was killed when a luxury car crashed into the bike she was riding with her husband. The husband sustained injuries and was treated in a hospital. The accident occurred around 5:30 am in front of Atria Mall in Worli. The BMW involved in the incident ran over the couple, killing Nakhwa and injuring her husband.

In another related case, Mihir Shah, the accused in the July 7 hit-and-run, appeared in the Sewri court on July 16 for remand proceedings. Shah was sent to judicial custody for 14 days, until July 30. The court denied the police’s request for further custody.

During the investigation, Shah did not answer key questions about his actions and whereabouts after the accident, nor did he disclose details about fleeing the scene or hiding his car’s number plate.
