On Tuesday, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi addressed a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, expressing concern over parts of his speech being expunged from the official records.

“I am shocked to see that a considerable portion of my speech has been removed from the proceedings under the guise of expunction,” Gandhi wrote.

Gandhi emphasized that his speech reflected “ground reality.”

“It is the right of every member to voice the concerns of the people on the House floor. I was exercising that right and fulfilling my duty to the people of this country yesterday,” he stated.
