Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently led a high-level review meeting aimed at evaluating the advancements made in the implementation of schemes outlined in his Independence Day address this year.

During his address to the nation from the historic Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi articulated his vision of empowering two crore women through engagement in self-help groups or anganwadis, with the aspiration of transforming them into millionaires, affectionately referred to as “Lakhpati Didis.”

The Prime Minister emphasized, “Today, as we strive to create two crore Lakhpati Didis through women self-help groups, we are dedicatedly harnessing the potential of our women’s power. The global community, exemplified by the G20, recognizes the significance of women-led development, echoing our commitment.”

The review meeting served as a platform for Prime Minister Modi to assess the various livelihood initiatives devised to fulfill this ambitious target.

In his Independence Day discourse, Prime Minister Modi also outlined plans to equip 15,000 women Self-Help Groups with drones designed for agricultural and related purposes.
