PM Modi’s Vision Becomes Reality as Maharishi Valmiki International Airport Inaugurated

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the holistic development of Ayodhya took a significant leap forward with the inauguration of the Maharishi Valmiki International Airport. Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, speaking on the occasion, declared it a historic day as PM Modi’s resolutions for Ayodhya are materializing, placing the city prominently on the world map.

The newly inaugurated airport, developed by the Airports Authority of India in collaboration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is a testament to PM Modi’s commitment to uplifting Ayodhya. Union Minister Scindia highlighted that the airport, constructed at a budget exceeding Rs 500 crores, is poised to welcome nearly 10 lakh pilgrims annually in its first phase.

The airport’s Phase I, costing over Rs 1450 crore, boasts a terminal building covering 6500 sqm and reflecting the architectural style of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir. Decorated with local art and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram, the terminal also incorporates sustainable features such as insulated roofing, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaping with fountains, and a solar power plant.

Jyotiraditya Scindia, detailing the expansion plans, stated that in the second phase, the airport will see further development, including a 3750-meter runway capable of accommodating Boeing 777 and Airbus 350 aircraft. The current airport area will expand to 5 lakh sq. ft., aligning with PM Modi’s vision for a world-class facility.

The airport’s strategic location is expected to enhance regional connectivity, fostering increased tourism, business activities, and employment opportunities. The inauguration aligns with the Prime Minister’s broader vision for Ayodhya, encompassing modern infrastructure, improved connectivity, and the preservation of the city’s rich history and heritage.

AAI Chairman Sanjeev Kumar expressed the significance of air connectivity for Ayodhya, emphasizing the excitement within the Airport Authority regarding the expansion. The rapid completion of the airport in just 20 months underscores the commitment to making Ayodhya accessible by air.

The second phase of development, slated to include a new terminal building of 50,000 sqm, aims to serve 60 lakh passengers annually during peak hours. Additional features include a runway extension, a parallel taxi track, and an apron for 18 additional aircraft parking stands.

The Ayodhya Airport’s evolution is not only a boon for pilgrims visiting Shri Ram Mandir but also a catalyst for businesses and pilgrimage tourism throughout the year, contributing to the overall economic development of the region. Prime Minister Modi’s dedication to Ayodhya’s growth is further evident with the inauguration of other key projects, including the redeveloped railway station and the introduction of new train services.

As Ayodhya embarks on this transformative journey, the city’s stature is set to rise both nationally and globally, solidifying its place as a beacon of cultural and economic significance. The upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22 is anticipated to be a crowning moment in Ayodhya’s rich history.
