On Tuesday, the Reliance Foundation announced both immediate relief efforts and long-term development plans to aid the communities affected by the landslides in Wayanad.
In collaboration with government authorities and disaster management teams in the district, Reliance Foundation personnel are actively on the ground providing essential support. This includes delivering immediate relief supplies such as milk and fruits to people in evacuation camps.
The Foundation is committed to offering comprehensive support over the coming weeks and months, focusing on immediate relief, mid-term recovery, and long-term development. Their efforts will include sustainable initiatives aimed at improving prevention, strengthening early warning systems, and enhancing early action strategies.

Nita Ambani, Founder and Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, expressed her sorrow over the devastating impact of the landslides in Kerala.”We are deeply pained by the suffering of the people of Wayanad and the immense damage caused by the landslides. Our Reliance Foundation teams on the ground are supporting the immediate response, recovery and long-term requirements for the people of the district. Reliance Foundation teams have quickly mobilized to the area and are working closely with state authorities. Their planned measures are being implemented in coordination with state and disaster response agencies to ensure an effective and timely response, reaching those in need during this critical period.
The Foundation’s multi-faceted response includes providing food, nutrition, toiletries, hygiene products, and temporary shelters. They are also supplying bedding, solar lanterns, and torches. Additionally, support will be given for education, reliable connectivity, and psycho-social services, including trauma counseling from experts.
