The renowned spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev underwent an urgent brain surgery at a private hospital in New Delhi. The surgery, which took place on March 17, was aimed at addressing bleeding within the skull. Following the procedure, Sadhguru was successfully taken off the ventilator, and according to a statement from the hospital, he has been showing steady progress. There have been improvements observed in his brain function, overall physical condition, and vital signs.
At 66 years old, Sadhguru is the founder of the Isha Foundation and is known for spearheading campaigns such as ‘Save Soil’ and ‘Rally for Rivers’ aimed at environmental conservation. Speaking of his surgery, reports state that he had been experiencing severe headaches for the past four weeks. Despite the intensity of the pain, he continued with his regular daily routine, engaging in social activities, and even presided over the Maha Shivaratri function on March 8.
The official Instagram of Sadhguru shared a video of him lying on a hospital bed fresh out of his surgery. The caption of the video reads, “Doctors discovered that for the last four weeks, Sadhguru had been ignoring a severe headache and giving himself relentlessly to his gruelling schedule, which included Mahashivratri. On 15th March, an MRI showed massive bleeding in the brain. However, Sadhguru refused to cancel his commitments including his session at India Today Conclave which he attended under the effect of powerful painkillers and sedation. On 17th morning, Sadhguru had to be rushed to hospital where it was discovered that he had life threatening swelling in the brain.”

The update further shared, “Neurologist Dr. Vinit Suri of Apollo Hospital said “We were joking with him that we have done what we could but you are healing yourself. The kind of improvement we are seeing is beyond our expectation. He is now extremely well. All his brain, body and vital parameters are normal and he is making a steady progress.”
