Ahead of the Independence Day celebrations, security measures have been tightened in Assam and other parts of the region. In Guwahati, security personnel are maintaining vigilance at the railway station, with dog squads deployed to detect any hidden explosives.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police have conducted checks at Guwahati railway station and on trains to prevent any untoward incidents. They are also patrolling the station along with a dog squad in preparation for Independence Day.

Mohammad AB Khan, Sub-Inspector of RPF in Guwahati, stated that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place at the railway station. “Ahead of Independence Day, we have tightened security measures at Guwahati Railway Station.

We inspect railway tracks, trains, luggage, and entry/exit points of the railway station. We are on alert mode to prevent any untoward situation. Patrolling on railway tracks is conducted regularly, and a dog squad is also deployed inside the station,” said Mohammad AB Khan.

As India prepares to celebrate its 78th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged citizens to participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign by hoisting the national flag at their homes. In support of the campaign, PM Modi has changed his social media profile picture to the Tricolour and urged everyone to do the same.
