Train Derailed: Howrah-Mumbai Passenger Train Derails Near Jharkhand, Minor Injuries Reported

In the early hours of Tuesday, a Howrah-Mumbai passenger train derailed near Jharkhand’s Charadharpur division, resulting in minor injuries to at least five to six passengers. The derailment occurred around 3:43 am between the Rajkharswan West Outer and Barabamboo stations.

According to railway officials, 18 coaches of the train were affected, including 16 passenger coaches, a power car, and a pantry car. Initial reports suggest that the derailment was caused by a goods train traveling from the opposite direction, which itself derailed and collided with the passenger train.

Although the incident is not being classified as major, the railways have launched a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the derailment. All injured passengers received prompt first aid at the scene, and officials assured that their injuries were minor.

Helpline numbers have been established for passengers and their families: Mumbai helpline at 022-22694040, Nagpur helpline at 7757912790, and Bhusawal helpline at 08799982712.

In response to the derailment, all affected passengers are being transported to Chakradharpur by bus. The swift action by railway authorities ensured that the injured received timely medical attention and that other passengers were safely evacuated.

As investigations continue, the railway department has emphasized its commitment to passenger safety and has promised to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
