Cracked UPSC at 24, Narendra Yadav Is IRS 1st Civil Servant Appointed as Brand Ambassador

Narendra Yadav initially desired to pursue a career as a sportsman, particularly as a professional cricketer. However, he opted for academics to avoid disappointing his father. Despite scoring 46 percent in his class XII board examinations, he successfully passed the Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) exams at the age of 24, securing a position as an IRS officer despite having studied in Hindi medium. Despite his professional commitments, even at the age of 39, Yadav remained dedicated to his workout regimen, which led to his appointment as the first non-athlete ambassador for the government’s Fit India movement.

An enthusiastic YouTuber, whose videos effortlessly portray attainable fitness objectives, Yadav acknowledges that he adopted fitness as a pivotal aspect of his life after observing cricketer Virat Kohli step onto the pitch. Reflecting on the moment, he recalls, “That was the day, in 2009, when I was inspired by his tautness, agility, and sculpted body,” as he completes a set of calisthenics. Over the past 12 years, Yadav has maintained a consistent routine of sleeping between 10 and 10:30 pm, rising at 4:30 am, and dedicating at least an hour to gym sessions six days a week. Additionally, he has encouraged his wife, Rachna Tanwar, to join him in his fitness regimen, which she believes serves as the most effective form of couple therapy.

Apart from his accomplishments in civil service, Narendra Yadav enjoys a substantial presence on social media, where he imparts valuable knowledge regarding health, fitness, and nutrition. Not only is he a certified fitness trainer, but also a qualified nutritionist. Utilizing his online platforms, he hosts fitness discussions and workshops, effectively reaching out to marginalized communities and underserved populations to advocate for the significance of maintaining a balanced diet and regular exercise.

The Fit India movement, spearheaded by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, is a nationwide campaign designed to inspire Indians to integrate physical activity and sports into their everyday routines. Its overarching goal is to cultivate a healthier and more active India, emphasizing the significance of physical fitness, mental health, and overall well-being for every individual in the country.
