VIRAL: Bengaluru Woman Discovers Hidden Camera In Third Wave Coffee Outlet Toilet; Staffer Fired

A disturbing incident unfolded at a Third Wave Coffee outlet in Bengaluru when a hidden camera was discovered in the washroom on Saturday morning. According to reports, a smartphone was found recording video from within a dustbin in the restroom.

An eyewitness reported that the camera was positioned to capture footage of the toilet seat and had been recording for about two hours. The smartphone, placed in flight mode to avoid detection, was concealed in the dustbin with a hole cut out for the camera lens.

Following the discovery, the coffee chain’s management acted swiftly. The staff member responsible for the camera has been terminated, and legal action has been initiated. The chain assured that they have a strict zero-tolerance policy for such behavior and are cooperating with authorities for further investigation.

In a statement, Third Wave Coffee emphasized, “The safety and well-being of our customers is always our priority. Regarding the isolated incident at our BEL Road Cafe on August 10, we have immediately terminated the individual involved and begun legal proceedings. We are working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure appropriate action is taken.”

The incident came to light when the woman who found the phone alerted the café staff. The authorities were promptly notified, and the police are currently investigating the matter. The eyewitness, who runs a popular cinephile Instagram account, shared details of the incident on social media, expressing her shock and urging others to be vigilant.

“This was horrifying to witness. I’ll be cautious about using washrooms in any establishment from now on, no matter how reputable the chain is,” the witness wrote. She also highlighted the need for vigilance in all public spaces, not just traditionally vulnerable areas like trial rooms and hotel rooms.

The case has raised significant concerns about privacy and safety in public restrooms, prompting a broader discussion about the need for increased vigilance and preventive measures against such invasions of privacy.
