Celine Dion delighted fans and admirers with a breathtaking return to the stage, making her first public appearance since her 2022 diagnosis with Stiff Person Syndrome. The iconic singer mesmerized audiences at the 2024 Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony.

At 56, Dion has largely stayed out of the public eye due to her health struggles. However, she made a spectacular comeback, delivering a powerful rendition of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’Amour” atop the Eiffel Tower.

Following her show-stopping performance, the ‘My Heart Will Go On’ star shared a moving message on Instagram, accompanied by stunning photos from the memorable evening.

Expressing her immense happiness at returning to her beloved cities, Celine wrote: “I’m honored to have performed tonight, for the Paris 2024 Opening Ceremony.”

“All of you have been so focused on your dream, and whether or not you take home a medal, I hope that being here means that it has come true for you. You should all be so proud, we know how hard you have worked to be the best of the best. Stay focused, keep going, my heart is with you!”

Host Kelly Clarkson was deeply moved by Celine Dion’s performance and became emotional while discussing it with her co-hosts.

Celine Dion Opens Up About Her Condition

Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) is a rare neurological disorder that primarily affects the brain and spinal cord, leading to rapid and severe symptoms.

In June, Celine Dion revealed that she occasionally experiences sudden spasms while singing or even preparing food at home.

During a taped interview with NBC’s Hoda Kotb, she shared:“It gets into a spasm. It can also be in the abdominal, it can also be in my spine, in my ribs.”

“If I point my feet, they will stay [in the same position], or if I cook, because I love to cook, my hands will get in a position where you cannot unlock them.”

Celine revealed that she had previously endured a fractured rib as a result of the severity of her spasms.
