Google Doodle Celebrates Day 2 Of Sailing Events At Paris Olympics 2024: Check It Out Here

Google has introduced a new Doodle to celebrate the sailing events at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Today’s Doodle marks Day 2 of sailing, following the previous Day 1 Doodle from Friday. The theme is ‘Water Sports,’ with Google highlighting it as ‘Masterful maneuvers and Marseille Marina views that’s a win-win situation! Sailing is today’s Doodle.’ The adorable GIF shows beautiful Marseille Marina and the Google Olympics birds involved in athletic stunts.

Interestingly, today’s Google Doodle is the same as yesterday’s. Since the beginning of the Paris 2024 Olympics, Google has been highlighting various sports with its Doodles. These playful animations have celebrated events such as surfing, artistic gymnastics, and football, bringing a touch of fun to the global Summer Games festivities.

Sailing has been a part of the Olympic Games since their modern inception in Athens, Greece, in 1896. Although the event was first postponed due to bad weather, it has been included in every Olympics except for the 1904 Games and the cancelled 1916 Games. The sailing events for the 2024 Summer Olympics are scheduled to be held from July 28 to August 8 at Marseille Marina.

The sailing events this year will feature a reduced number of competitors, dropping from 350 to 330, with an equal number of male and female sailors. Various reforms have been made to support gender equality and boost diversity among the participating nations. A total of 65 National Olympic Committees will compete, though India will not be represented.
