Google Doodle Today Celebrates Paris Olympics 2024

The 2024 Paris Summer Games officially began yesterday. Today, July 27, Google is celebrating the skateboarding events taking place at the Place de La Concorde with an animated doodle. The doodle features a group of chickens skateboarding on the roof of a house.

The doodle highlights the men’s skateboarding events. The competition has two rounds: the men’s street prelims in the afternoon, followed by the final round in the evening. Skateboarding is one of four new sports added to the Olympics this year, along with breaking, surfing, and sport climbing, joining the 28 traditional Olympic sports.

Athletes from over 200 countries are gathered in Paris to compete in 329 events across 32 sports disciplines. The Games started on July 26 and will conclude on August 11. This year marks the 33rd edition of the quadrennial event.
