A precise smash earned HS Prannoy two game points, which he converted after his opponent faltered at the net. Having previously secured bronze medals at the World Championships and the Asian Games last year, Prannoy appeared more confident in the second game. He quickly found his rhythm, effectively constructing rallies to establish a commanding 7-3 lead.
The 32-year-old Prannoy is set to face Vietnam’s Le Duc Phat, currently ranked 71st in men’s singles, in his final Group K match on Wednesday, July 31, at 11:00 PM IST.
