As the Paris Olympics 2024 has come to an end, a surprising and unexpected achievement has come to light. India has achieved a historic milestone in the sport of breakdancing. Yes, you heard it right.
However, the country did not field any athletes in breakdancing at the 2024 Olympics. Instead, the B-girl making headlines is actually 18-year-old India Sardjoe from The Hague, Netherlands.
The Dutch athlete, known by the stage name ‘India’, won her opening match against B-girl Talash from the refugee team in the women’s breakdancing event. Following this, she was assigned to Group A with competitors from China, the United States, and Portugal.
Later, she made history as the first-ever Olympic champion in a breakdancing battle.

Meanwhile, at Paris Olympics 2024, India sent a delegation of 117 athletes who competed in 69 medal events across 16 sports, including archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and tennis.

However, Team India ended their olympic campaign with tally of 6 medals, which was 5 bronze and 1 silver.
