Indian Wrestler Nisha Dahiya Ruled Out After Severe Injury During Her Quarter Final Match

Indian wrestler Nisha Dahiya sustained a severe injury during her quarter-final match in the women’s 68 kg event against North Korea’s Pak Sol Gum at the Paris Olympics.

Nisha’s journey at the Paris Olympics ended with a heartbreaking 8-10 loss to Sol Gum. She had been leading 8-1 when she suffered a shoulder injury and had to take medical timeouts.

In visible pain, Nisha struggled to maintain her lead, while Sol Gum capitalized on her injury. Despite her efforts to adopt a defensive strategy, the 18-year-old Sol Gum mounted a comeback and advanced to the semi-finals.

Following the defeat, an emotional Nisha was taken for an MRI to assess the extent of her injury. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) confirmed the shoulder injury and stated that her treatment plan would be determined after further tests.

“Nisha sustained a severe shoulder injury during her match today, requiring reduction and an MRI. She has been ruled out of the competition. Further tests will determine her treatment plan,” the IOA said in a statement.
