If he secures the gold in the men’s javelin throw event on Thursday, August 8, Neeraj Chopra will become only the fifth athlete globally to defend their javelin throw title and the first Indian to win two consecutive individual gold medals.

Neeraj Chopra’s qualification round for the javelin event at the Paris Olympics is scheduled to begin at 1:50 PM IST on Tuesday, August 6. Should he advance from the qualification round, he will compete in the men’s javelin throw final, which is set to start at 11:55 PM IST on August 8.
