Following the Indian Hockey team’s win against Spain at the Paris Olympics 2024, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a reward of ₹1 crore for hockey player & member of Team India Vivek Sagar Prasad on Friday.
Talking to ANI, Yadav said ‘It is a matter of immense happiness that our Hockey team has won a medal in the Olympics. Our hockey team won consecutive bronze hockey medals after 52 years. I congratulate the team on winning the bronze Medal at the Paris Olympics. Our happiness in Madhya Pradesh gets doubled as our player Vivek Sagar was a part of that team.’
He Also said, ‘Our last government honoured him with the post of DSP when they won a medal in the last Olympics. A reward of Rs 1 crore and a house was provided to him last time also. We will again provide Rs 1 crore to him this time. I congratulate all the players of the Indian hockey team.’
Earlier, CM Yadav also interacted with Sagar via video call. He congratulate him on winning the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics.
Team India’s Performance At Olympics 2024
Meanwhile at Yves du Manoir Stadium, the Indian team secured the bronze medal with a 2-1 victory over Spain.
Owing to skipper Harmanpreet Singh and crucial saves by PR Sreejesh, the match was sealed in India’s favour.
For the first time, after 52 years, Team India has won bronze medals consecutively in hockey. Since 1972 Munich Games.
