India fell 2-3 to Germany at the Yves-du-Manoir Stadium on Tuesday, missing out on a spot in the gold medal match of the Men’s Hockey event at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Captain Harmanpreet Singh gave India an early advantage with a penalty corner goal in the seventh minute. Germany equalized in the 18th minute with Gonzalo Peillat converting a short corner.

Germany took a 2-1 lead in the 27th minute after using a referral to win a penalty stroke, with Christopher Ruehr scoring from the spot following a foul by India’s Jarmanpreet Singh.
India managed to level the score in the second half, with Sukhjeet Singh deflecting Harmanpreet’s drag flick into the net. However, six minutes before the end, Marco Mitkau scored Germany’s third goal by deflecting a pass across the goal.

India struggled to find a late equalizer, with Shamsher Singh coming closest by shooting just over the bar seconds before the final whistle.
