Paris Olympics 2024: Lakshya Sen Secures Pre-Quarters Following Win Against Jonatan Christie

In an ongoing Paris Olympics 2024, Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen has acquired a place in the pre-quarters after defeating Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie at a badminton men’s singles Group L match on Wednesday.

In an ongoing Paris Olympics 2024, Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen has acquired a place in the pre-quarters after defeating Indonesia’s Jonatan Christie at a badminton men’s singles Group L match on Wednesday.

He defeated Jonatan Christie with a score of 21-18, 21-12. Lakshya Sen won the match against Christie within 50 minutes at La Chapelle Arena.

In the first game, the Indian shuttler completely dominated Christie. Subsequently, he capitalised the second round and wrapped up the match against Jonatan Christie.

Earlier, Sen didn’t started out well at the beginning of the game, as Indonesian star Christie stood at  8-2. Afterward, Sen was back in the game and in the mid-game interval, he brought the score 11-10.

Eventually in concluding moments, Lakshya adopted the pace and due to adaptability, he won the first-round by getting five points. As for the second round, he was filled with confidence and afterward he sealed the 2nd set.

After this win, he has now qualified for 16th round of men’s singles badminton event. He is set to face H.S. Prannoy in his initial knockout round. But the face-off might happen, if Prannoy secures win at his final group stage match.
