Paris Olympics 2024: Team India End Their Campaign With 6 Medals-5 Bronze & 1 Silver

As the Paris Olympics 2024 comes to an end, the Olympic campaign of Team India end their campaign, with a medal tally of six, which includes one silver and five bronze medals.

Thus, India concluded its campaign with the 71st position in the Paris Olympics medal tally.

Highlights Of Paris Olympics 2024

But in this multi-sport event, many Indian Players performed very well and made the country proud, Shooter Manu Bhaker became first Indian to win two medals in a single Olympics edition, by securing a bronze in the mixed team 10m air pistol event alongside Sarabjot Singh.

Another Indian player swapnil kusale has also contributed to India’s medal count, by securing a bronze in shooting.

The Indian hockey team once again made the nation proud by earning bronze medal consecutively after 52 years, defeating Spain with a score of 2-1. Neeraj Chopra became the most successful individual Olympian from India by securing a silver in the men’s javelin throw.

Subsequently, India’s campaign came to an end with Aman Sehrawat becoming the country’s youngest Olympic medallist by securing a bronze in wrestling.

Misses Of India

But, unfortunately Indian team at olympics also witnessed its fair-share of misses. Many athletes narrowly missing out on six potential medals.

Indian Players like Lakshya Sen, Mirabai Chanu, and Manu Bhaker were among those who finished fourth in their respective events. Additionally, Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification ahead of a historic final added to India’s disappointments.

Meanwhile, at the Summer Games, India sent a contingent of 117 athletes to compete in this multi-sport event. So far, Indian competitors have participated in 69 medal events across 16 sports at the 2024 Summer Games, including archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and tennis. This broad participation underscores India’s ambition regarding global sports stage.
