Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has requested the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) yesterday to award her a shared silver medal after being disqualified from the Paris Olympics final for failing to meet the weight limit.
Amid this, several delegates have come forward to back Vinesh Phogat and supports that she deserves a Silver Medal at Paris Olympics.
Bollywood actor Preity G Zinta, on social media platform X, said that if not qualified for gold Vinesh Phogat has earned a silver medal.
She writes, “Dear @Olympics Indian wrestler @Phogat_Vinesh might not have made weight to compete for Gold but she won legitamately & proceeded to the finals. It’s only fair she is awarded the SILVER medal. She earned it. Disqualifying her for Gold is ok but she has earned the Silver ! Pls be fair After all this is the Olympics.”
