A fire erupted on the hill next to the inhabited area on Tuesday night, in Sawai Madhopur. It took five hours of combined efforts from the forest department and local villagers to bring the fire under control, without any casualties. The blaze spread across hundreds of acres, disturbing the local wildlife population, which includes deer, rabbits, jackals, and others.
Forest Ranger Bhupendra Singh Jadon detailed that the fire started suddenly, fueled by dry grass and keekar trees, posing a significant threat to the nearby village. Upon receiving word of the situation, authorities swiftly responded, with the sub-divisional officer and police arriving at the scene late at night. Together with the villagers, they worked to contain the fire and prevent its further spread towards the populated area.
