Telangana’s DCA Unmasks Drug License Shenanigans

The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) in Telangana took decisive action on Saturday against the falsification of drug licenses by Ovoid Pharmachem Pvt Ltd, a pharmaceutical company situated in Jeedimetla. A case has been lodged against the company director.

According to an official statement from the DCA, a complaint has been filed at the Jeedimetla Police Station concerning the falsification of a drug license. Narasapally Ramudu, Director of Ovoid Pharmachem Pvt Ltd, is facing charges under Sections 420 (Cheating) and 468 (Forgery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in FIR No. 327/2024, filed on May 5, 2024, at the Jeedimetla Police Station.

The allegations involve the creation of a counterfeit drug license containing unauthorized drug products not approved by the DCA, Telangana, as well as the production and sale of goods under the forged drug license. This incident highlights a significant case of fraudulent activity within the pharmaceutical sector, as uncovered by an investigation conducted by DCA officials, revealing misconduct at Ovoid Pharmachem Pvt Ltd, located at Plot No. 318, Subashnagar, Quthbullapur Mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri District.
