BFC Coach Zaragoza Reveals Why They Are So Successful This Season

As Bengaluru FC heads into their away match against FC Goa, head coach Gerard Zaragoza reflected on the team’s impressive performance in the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) season. With the Blues currently unbeaten and having conceded just one goal, Zaragoza is optimistic but aware of the challenges ahead.

Challenges Ahead for the Blues

In a pre-match press conference, Zaragoza acknowledged the unique difficulties that each match presents. He stated, “We cannot control the past. And we can try to control a little bit the future if we can control the future. And last season was not good for us away from home. But this season we played two matches and we have four points.” His comments highlight the team’s resilience and determination to improve from previous performances.

Bengaluru FC has shown adaptability this season, securing one win and one draw in their two away games so far. Zaragoza emphasized the importance of approaching each match with the right mindset, especially since the team is now perceived as the “hunted” rather than the “hunter” due to their strong start.

Unity and Team Spirit

A significant factor behind Bengaluru’s success has been their strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork. Zaragoza praised the depth of talent in his squad, including a mix of experienced players and promising youngsters eager to make their mark. He noted, “When you win, everything is easier. That’s like this. They have strong characters. But they show that in between them, convening, we are leading the games.” This unity has allowed the team to perform well both at home and on the road.

The positive atmosphere within the squad has been further reinforced by the players’ dedication in training. Zaragoza highlighted how recent sessions have demonstrated incredible skill and commitment, fostering a competitive spirit that motivates everyone to excel.

Awareness of Opponent’s Threats

Despite their opponents, the Islanders, struggling with form, Zaragoza remains cautious about the potential threats posed by key players in their lineup. He underscored the importance of maintaining concentration and tactical discipline in their upcoming clash against Manolo Marquez’s side.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Bengaluru FC’s current success can be attributed to a blend of strong leadership from veteran players, a cohesive team spirit, and a commitment to improving with each game. As they prepare for their visit to the Fatorda Stadium, the focus remains on capturing all three points.

With their impressive start to the season, Bengaluru FC is determined to continue their winning momentum. As they face FC Goa, Zaragoza’s strategic insights and the team’s unity will be critical in navigating the challenges that lie ahead.
