On Sunday, Faf du Plessis, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), scored his 4,000th run in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. At the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, DuPlessis reached this milestone during the game against the Rajasthan Royals (RR).

He has clinched another milestone of becoming the only batter to cross 600 runs in the IPL 2023. In the season so far, he has 631 runs with an impressive average of 57.36 and a strike rate of 154.28. He has smashed seven half-centuries in the season.

Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli formed a 50-run partnership
Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, the RCB’s in-form openers, came to bat and provided the team with a strong start. RCB had a 42/0 record at the conclusion of the powerplay. Virat Kohli scored 17 off 17 balls, and Faf du Plessis scored 23* off 199 balls.
In 6.3 overs, the pair accumulated 50 runs together, but Virat was removed in the seventh over when Asif bowled a slower ball. In 19 balls, Virat scored 18 points. DuPlessis was soon joined in the middle by Glenn Maxwell, and the two together added 50 runs off of 38 balls to the score. In 13.2 overs, RCB reached their 100-run milestone.
The RCB skipper scored a half-century in just 41 balls, giving him a seventh fifty of the year. However, Asif plucked off Faf Du Plessis’ scalp with a full-length delivery in the same over. Mahipal Lomror, who faced two balls and scored one run, was struck out by Adam Zampa in the following over.
In the 16.5 over, Maxwell needed just 30 balls to complete his fifty. With a stunning yorker that took the wickets in the 17.3 overs, Sandeep Sharma got rid of Maxwell. Anuj Rawat demonstrated class in the final over by hitting two back-to-back sixes and a four, giving RCB 171/5 in 20 overs.
Adam Zampa established his position in the team by taking two wickets while only giving up 25 runs. While Sandeep Sharma only struck out one batter, Asif also claimed two wickets.
