In the quarterfinals of the BWF French Open Super 750 badminton tournament, India’s PV Sindhu faced a tough battle against China’s Chen Yufei and eventually bowed out after a closely contested match.
Sindhu won the first game with a score of 24-22 but faced setbacks in the next two games, losing 17-21 and 18-21, resulting in her exit from the tournament. Chen Yufei, the reigning Olympic champion, secured her spot in the semifinal and will await the winner between Zhang Yiman and Akane Yamaguchi.
Sindhu, a two-time Olympic medalist, made her comeback in the BWF tour event after recovering from a knee injury. In her journey to the quarterfinal, she showcased her resilience by overcoming an opening-game loss to defeat World No. 10 Zhang 13-21, 21-10, 21-14, marking her first quarterfinal appearance of the season.
