Hardik Pandya led team India smashes New Zealand by 168 runs in the third and final T20I. New Zealand suffers a crushing defeat in the third T20I at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday. Hardik and company destroyed the Kiwis by 168 runs after setting a mammoth target of 235.
Batting first on a batting track Indian opener Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi put on an explosive 80-run partnership after another flop show by Ishan Kishan. Gill then dominated a 103-run partnership with captain Hardik Pandya and scored his first T20I century. Hardik scored 30 runs in his brief outing and inspired the young batter on the field. Meanwhile, after winning the toss, star batsman Shubman Gill not only smashed New Zealand’s records but also broke Virat Kohli’s record of the highest individual score.
In the series decider, the 23-year-old Batsman outplayed the Kiwi bowlers. He scored 126 runs off 63 balls with the help of seven sixes and twelve fours. However, Gill only scored 18 runs in the first two games of the series.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill, the star batsman, due to his record-breaking innings became the fifth Indian batter to score centuries in all three formats. He also surpassed Virat Kohli’s 122-run innings against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022 to score the highest individual score.
Speaking about the game India rattled Kiwis with the bowl also. Clueless Kiwis failed to build partnerships and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Captain Pandya took 4 wickets and bundled Newzealand for 66 runs. With this victory, Team India won the three-match T20I series 2-1. Earlier, in the first T20I, New Zealand defeated India in Ranchi by a score of 21 runs. Additionally, India was able to defeat New Zealand by six wickets in the second T20I.
