Despite Pakistan’s solid start, reaching 73 for 3 in 12.1 overs while chasing a target of 120, Bumrah’s exceptional bowling skills completely altered the course of the game. With figures of 3 for 14 in four overs, he played a pivotal role in restricting Pakistan to 113 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan’s pace bowlers, led by Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, had a commendable outing, dismissing India for a mere 119 runs. Mohammad Amir also contributed with two wickets. Although Rishabh Pant’s 42-run innings provided some resistance, the rest of the Indian batting lineup failed to make significant contributions after Pakistan captain Babar Azam elected to bowl first.
India seemed to be in a strong position at 81 for 3 after 10 overs, but a sudden collapse saw them losing 7 wickets and managing only 38 runs in the next 9 overs. This collapse turned the tide of the match in Pakistan’s favor briefly, but Bumrah’s heroics ultimately secured the victory for India.
