Indian Cyclists Shine at Asian Track Cycling Championships with Medals and Records

New Delhi: The third day of the Asian Track Cycling Championships witnessed an outstanding display of talent and determination from Indian cyclists, leaving a mark with medals and record-breaking performances.

In the Junior Women’s category, Sarita Kumari secured the Bronze medal with a stellar performance in the Final race, showcasing her prowess with a remarkable timing of 36.966s. Sarita’s journey to the podium was marked by hard work and dedication, earning praise for her achievement.

Meenakshi set a new National Record in the Women’s Senior Individual Pursuit event, displaying strength and determination with a timing of 3:42.515s. Despite finishing 4th in the qualifying round, Meenakshi’s record-breaking performance highlighted her potential as a top Indian cyclist.

In the Para Track Cycling events, Arshad Shaikh and Aryavardhan Cheelampalli secured medals, with Arshad clinching Gold in the 1km Time Trial C2 category and Aryavardhan securing Silver. Jyoti Gaderiya added to India’s success by winning Gold in the 500m Time trial of the C2 category.

Looking ahead, Indian athletes are poised for more victories with 10 final events lined up for the following day. The promising performances continued with Bhumika showcasing her talent in the Junior Women’s Omnium event, securing a commendable fifth place despite stiff competition.

The Indian contingent’s exceptional performance underscores the country’s growing prowess in cycling. With medals secured and records broken, India remains optimistic about further success in the remaining days of the championships, aiming to elevate its position on the podium and inspire future generations of cyclists.
