In yet another outstanding display of shooting prowess, India’s Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema secured a gold medal in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol Team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games. The Indian team narrowly outperformed the silver medal-winning Chinese team by a single point, marking India’s fourth gold medal in shooting and the sixth overall at the ongoing Asian Games.

Sarabjot Singh made a remarkable comeback, securing fifth place to qualify for the individual final, while Arjun Singh Cheema qualified in eighth place. Although Shiva Narwal did not qualify for the individual final and finished 14th, the combined score of the Indian team proved sufficient to clinch the gold medal, edging out China by the narrowest of margins.

With a total score of 1734 points, the Indian team secured the gold, while China closely followed with 1733 points, and Vietnam claimed the bronze with 1730 points.

India’s shooting contingent has now amassed an impressive tally of 13 medals, including four gold, four silver, and five bronze. This achievement adds to India’s growing success in the shooting events at the Asian Games.

Previously, Sift Kaur Samra secured a gold medal in the Women’s 50m Rifle 3P individual final, further highlighting India’s dominance in shooting. Additionally, the Indian women’s shooting team, comprising Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan, added to the country’s winning streak by capturing a gold medal in the Women’s 25m Pistol Team event.

Earlier in the competition, India’s men’s shooting team, consisting of Divyansh Panwar, Rudrankksh Patil, and Aishwary Tomar, clinched the first gold medal in shooting in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle Team event.

With the current tally of 23 medals at the Asian Games, including five golds, India continues to impress and solidify its position as a formidable force in the world of sports.
