Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOC), a domestic oil company, has revealed its intention to produce Formula 1 (F1) fuel in the coming three months. This decision is a part of IOC’s plan to expand its variety of special fuels.
IOC is already well-known in the fuel industry with three branded fuels, like the widely used XtraGreen diesel. However, introducing F1 fuel marks a big advancement in the company’s growth plan.
The super-fast F1 fuel, which powers cars in thrilling races, shows how IOC is dedicated to making innovative and top-quality products. Alongside making F1 fuel soon, IOC has introduced a new petrol named ‘Storm’. IOC will provide this fuel for the Asian motorcycle road racing championship, expanding its presence in the racing sector.
Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, IOC’s Chairman, mentioned in a company statement, “Today, we are teaming up with FIM Asia Road Racing Championship to provide ‘Storm’. We’re the first in India to make fuel used in road racing.”
Vaidya also shared the company’s future plans, saying, “Our R&D will produce Category-1 fuel in two months and Formula 1 fuel in three months.” He stressed that IOC’s journey isn’t complete until they enter F1, showing the company’s ambition.
‘Storm – Ultimate Racing Fuel’ stands out for its unique properties, different from regular and premium petrol. It offers faster acceleration, more power, smoother driving, lower engine deposits, and fewer exhaust emissions. It’s suitable for use in all racing championships for all motorbike classes needing FIM Category 2 race fuels.
Vaidya concluded, “This is just the beginning.” He highlighted that ‘Storm – Ultimate Racing Fuel’ ensures engine cleanliness, fuel system maintenance, and protects vehicle parts from corrosion.
