Faf du Plessis’s RCB has opted to bat first in the 1st match of IPL 2024.
The Chennai Super Kings, led by newly – appointed skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, are geard up to take on Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2024 opener at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
The two teams have previuosly played 31 matches, with CSK winning 20, RCB emerging victorious in 10, and one match ending with no result. Additionally, CSK has a strong record at MA Chidambaram, winning 46 matches and losing 18.
Ruturaj Gaikwad, who debuted with CSK in 2020, was named the new skipper by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who stepped down from the post. Under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK has secured the IPL trophy five times in 2010, 2011, 2018, 2021, and 2023.
