Ishan Kishan returned to cricket on Tuesday to represent the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) against Route Mobile Limited in the 18th DY Patil T20 Cup 2024. However, his team suffered a major defeat losing to Route Mobile Limited by 89 runs.
Kishan tripped Sumit Dhekale over Sayan Mondal’s delivery, leading to dismissal. He had brief success with the bat, scoring 19 runs in 12 balls with two boundaries and a six.
Route Mobile Limited batted first and scored a total of 192 runs in eight overs from their 20 overs. Aayush Vartak’s explosive 31-ball 54 and Dhekale’s rapid 17-ball 42 set the team up for a tough run. In response, RBI floundered, scoring only 103 runs in 16.3 overs. Badrey Alam did well and took 5 wickets for 20 runs.
At the DY Patil Stadium this season, Nirlon Sports Club scored 161 runs in 20 overs against Mumbai Customs. Mumbai Customs chased down the target with ease as they secured a nine-wicket win thanks to the flawless partnership between Sachin Yadav (82*) and Smit Patel (74*).
In another match, CAG won the 170-run victory against Indian Oil by a narrow margin of two. Indian Oil struggled in the middle and late ends despite being led by Akshay Raghuvanshi (53) and skipper Aditya Tare (37).
Today also saw Central Railway lose to Jain Irrigation by five wickets; DY Patil Red and Bank of Baroda won their matches.
