At the conclusion of the first innings and the second session of day two of the ongoing second Test against the West Indies on Friday, India had amassed a massive total of 438 thanks in large part to a historic century by Virat Kohli in his 500th international game and fifty-plus scores from captain Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
With Ishan Kishan (18) and Ravichandran Ashwin (6) at the crease, India began the second session at 373/6. Kishan was out for 25 as Jason Holder took his second wicket of the contest. India’s score at that time was 393/7. Joshua de Silva, the wicketkeeper, grabbed the catch.
After being stumped by the wicketkeeper, Jaydev Unadkat was removed by Jomel Warrican for just seven runs. India’s score at that time was 416/8. Ashwin reached his 14th Test half-century.
Mohammed Siraj was out for zero after Warrican took his third wicket of the game. India scored 426/9.
The last wicket was taken by Kemar Roach, who also got his third. He clean-bowled Ashwin and got him out for a well-made 56. For 438 runs, India was bowled out.
India maintained decisive lead against West Indies on Friday after Kohli’s maiden overseas century since 2018

Ishan Kishan and Ravichandran Ashwin were both unbeaten at lunchtime on Day 2 with scores of 18* and 6*, respectively, as India had amassed 373-6 in 108 overs. After starting day two on 87, Kohli completed an error-free hundred to tie Sir Donald Bradman’s record for most Test hundreds. In his 500th international appearance for India, Kohli displayed unwavering composure the whole time he played.
Virat Kohli’s second century in Caribbean Islands with 121 Runs
This was Kohli’s second century in the Caribbean Islands with a score of 121. He later turned his first ton into a double hundred, which occurred in North Sound in 2016. Surpassing Kane Williamson’s previous record of 28 Test tons, Kohli now ranks third among current cricketers in terms of Test tonnes, behind only Joe Root (30) and Steve Smith (32).

After Alzarri Joseph’s straight shot at the bowler’s end, their 159-run partnership came to an end. The batsman who was assigned to bat had to leave for a score of 121 because Kohli fell far short of the line.
After a slight edge from Roach’s delivery, Jadeja was the next to follow for a score of 61 after a few overs. This was the penultimate wicket in the opening session because Ishan Kishan and Ravichandran Ashwin made sure no other wickets were lost. In the two-game series, India is led 1-0.
