Australian cricketer and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) bowling all-rounder Sophie Molineux praised India pacer Renuka Singh for her performance against Gujarat Giants in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). He praised Singh’s excellent batting and control of the game in the two wins so far.
Under the management of coach Luke Williams, RCB emphasize flexibility as well as a clear role for each player. The key for Renuka Singh Thakur is to swing the new ball forward and break early and in the last match against Gujarat Giants, she took two wickets for 14. She played this role brilliantly and bitterly.
Sophie Molineux took three wickets as Singh set the pace for RCB after Renuka’s impressive new-ball ton played a key role. He praised Singh’s ability to sustain a strong attack and noted his importance in T20 cricket.
Molineux expressed admiration for Singh’s performance and said: “Renuka did well in both matches. After playing against her in the Indian team, I know she is very reliable. It is good to have her in our team.”
Renuka Singh, who was chosen as the player of the match, said that her 2/14 performance was her best performance since her return from injury. Skipper Smriti Mandhana used swing bowling at both ends and Sophie Devine backed Renuka, conceding just 12 runs in her four overs.
RCB took a different approach from the previous game, using bowling in the match. Power plays instead of returning. Molineux praised the flexibility of the team, emphasizing the importance of focusing on individual roles and being ready to adapt to changing competitive conditions.
While RCB are currently leading the WPL, they will face Delhi FC at home in their next match. Against Gujarat Giants, RCB restricted their opponents to 107/7 in 20 overs and chased the target in just 12.3 overs with good contributions from skipper Smriti Mandhana, Sabbhineni Meghana and Ellyse Perry
