“No Money For School Fee..” Dhoni Fan Spends 64,000 To Watch IPL Match With Daughters

One of cricket’s legends, MS Dhoni, commands a massive fan following, with some even elevating him to the status of a deity. Despite Dhoni’s widespread popularity, one fan’s extraordinary devotion recently captured attention. This fervent supporter splurged a hefty sum of Rs 64,000 to catch a glimpse of Dhoni and his three daughters during the Chennai Super Kings’ IPL 2024 match against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 8.

“I couldn’t secure tickets, so I purchased them from a tout for a total of Rs 64,000. I still need to pay my daughters’ school fees, but witnessing MS Dhoni even once was worth it. My daughters and I are thrilled,” the father shared with the media.

“My father worked tirelessly to acquire these tickets. We were overjoyed when Dhoni took the field,” one of the fan’s daughters added.

In the match, Ravindra Jadeja played a pivotal role in Chennai Super Kings’ victory over the Kolkata Knight Riders, leading to the Shreyas Iyer-led team’s first loss in the Indian Premier League 2024.

Jadeja’s exceptional bowling performance, claiming figures of 3 for 18, restricted KKR to 137 for 9, while Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad’s unbeaten 67 guided the five-time champions to victory with 14 balls to spare. Jadeja’s stellar performance earned him the Player of the Match award.

“I always relish bowling on tracks like these. My focus was on hitting the right areas. I’ve spent a lot of time practicing here – if you bowl accurately, it pays off. Visiting teams take time to adapt and strategize on such surfaces. It’s challenging for them to assess the conditions upon arrival. We, on the other hand, are familiar with the conditions,” Jadeja commented after the game.
