In a final development related to Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification controversy, the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) has dismissed Indian wrestler’s Vinesh Phogat’s plea on Wednesday.
This development came just around the time when CAS had delayed its judgment till August 16 on Friday.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, the Indian Olympic Association confirmed that the ad-hoc division of the Court of Arbitration for Sport has rejected Phogat’s appeal against her disqualification from the Olympic Games.
As a result, this decision has eliminated her chance of winning the joint silver medal in women’s 50kg wrestling.
Earlier, Vinesh Phogat secured her place in the gold medal match by defeating Cuba’s Yusneylis Guzman Lopez 5-0 in the semi-finals. However, she was disqualified for being 100 grams over the 50 kg weight limit during the weigh-in on August 7 morning.

Later, Phogat asked the Court of Arbitration for Sport to grant her the joint silver medal. Additionally, she also announced her retirement from wrestling.
