Paris Olympics Faces Food Shortage, Great Britain To Get A Chef Of Their Own

Team Great Britain has expressed serious concerns about the food supply for its athletes at the ongoing Paris Olympics. According to the Independent, the team has complained about a lack of essential foods such as eggs, protein, and carbohydrates, along with the low quality of the food provided. In response, the team has instructed its athletes to dine at the GB’s performance center and will bring in a chef from home to address the food issues.

Britain Criticizes Food Standards at Paris Olympics

“There are not enough of certain foods: eggs, chicken, certain carbohydrates, and then there is the quality of the food, with raw meat being served to athletes. They have got to improve it over the next couple of days dramatically,” said British Olympic Association president Andy Anson.

“Our athletes have decided they would rather go and eat in our performance lodge in Clichy, so we are having to get another chef to come over as the demand is far exceeding what we thought it would be,” he added.

Vegan Food Plans for Paris Olympics
The Paris Olympics are focusing on serving a majority of fruits and vegetables, mostly sourced locally from the French capital. Around 60% of the food will be vegan and plant-based, with a significant reduction in cheese and dairy products.
