Real Madrid Look To Bounce Back Against Villareal

Real Madrid will look to redeem themselves after consecutive disappointments in their last two games. They face Villareal this Saturday in La Liga.

Real Madrid Look To Bounce Back Against Villareal

Real Madrid who lost to Lille in the last Champions League fixture will look to regain their form in the La Liga bout against Alaves. Despite having the Galaticos 2.0 squad at the disposal, Madrid have been disappointing this season. Carlo Ancelotti will look to get the best result of the game after two consecutive disappoints this season.

End of Invincibility or Redemption?

Real Madrid have come off from a very successful season 2023-24 winning a domestic double of La Liga and UEFA Champions League. Currently, the Los Blancos are hoping to reach the top of the table at number two with just 18 points, three points behind the arch-rivals FC Barcelona and one place ahead of their opponents Vilareal.

Carlo Ancelotti believes that loss to Lille is a reality check to Real Madrid of their position and form.

” Sometimes a good run makes you think that you are an invincble, but the loss against Lille gave us an reality check. The players aren’t at the best. There’s a lack of intensity defensively and ball circulation isn’t par offensively ” said six times Champions League winner.

A shocking loss often disintegrates dressing room and spoils the mood of the dressing room, but that’s not the case at Madrid Camp says Ancelotti.

” The mood is fine as always, Wednseday’s defeat is an opportunity to be self critical and react well to the defeat” says former AC Milan manager.

On Facing Villareal

” Villareal are doing really well, tmmorow’s game is an opportunity to bounce back and reconnect and get back on winning ways” says Los Blancos Manager.

Will Mbappe Start?

Kylian Mbappe have been out of action for the past two games due to sustaining hamstring injury. He didn’t feature in the Madrid derby and came off the bench against Lille. Carlo Ancelotti gave an update about the possible return of the 2018 World Cup winner.

” He has had the problem, which has been resolved, now he has been training normally” Ancelotti said.

Courtesy of his return on the pitch, France coach Didier Deschamps has opted out Mbappe from the squad.

” I don’t get involved in what national coaches do. Deschamps has decided not to call him. We need to get the ball to the strikers quicker and we lack defensive intensity” said Ancelotti ahead of Villareal game.
