The Gujarat Titans led by Shubman Gill defeated the Rajasthan Royals by 3 wickets in a thrilling IPL match at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on April 10, 2024. Batting first after losing the toss, Rajasthan posted 196/3 in their 20 overs. Skipper Sanju Samson scored 68* and Riyan Parag made 76 to help Rajasthan recover from 42/2 and build a big total. The duo added 130 runs in 78 balls for the 3rd wicket.

In reply, Gill scored 72 off 44 balls to lead Gujarat’s chase. With the help of Rahul Tewatia’s 22 and Rashid Khan’s unbeaten 24, Gujarat reached the target with a ball to spare. Rashid hit the winning boundary on the final ball to seal Gujarat’s victory. Earlier, Gujarat opted to field after winning the toss which was delayed due to rain. The match eventually started at 7:40 PM IST after the toss at 7:25 PM. Gujarat made two changes – Abhinav Manohar and Matthew Wade replaced BR Sharath and Kane Williamson. Rajasthan brought in Kuldeep Sen for the injured Nandre Burger.

However, Tewatia and Rashid took Gujarat home to hand Rajasthan their first defeat of the season.

In the last over, Rashid Khan hit two fours and two runs in the first 3 balls. He then took one run to make GT require 4 runs from the last 2 deliveries. Tewatia then hit Avesh over the mid-off fielder and was run out while attempting the third run. With GT still needing 2 runs off the final ball, Rashid smashed a four-over backward point to win the match.
